In today's fast-paced business environment, efficiency is key. This case study explores the development of a web application designed to optimize geographical data handling for client address management in Colombia. Leveraging the Google Maps API, the application introduces a layer of geojson polygons that delineate unique geographical zones known as UTCs (Territorial Control Units).
The application aimed to standardize the process of assigning UTCs to sales point addresses provided by clients. This was crucial for our business to maintain consistent data and enhance operational workflows.
As a fullstack developer, I was responsible for ensuring seamless visualization, functionality, and backend logic. I developed the entire application using Laravel, utilizing PHP Blade templates for the frontend and handling backend operations within the same framework. I also guided the design process and ensured that all elements worked cohesively. This comprehensive involvement was crucial for creating an efficient and unified product.
One of the main hurdles was creating a responsive interface that could handle real-time searches and display relevant UTC information without latency issues.
The tech stack was a robust combination of MySQL for database management, and Laravel for Front and Back-end. The application was hosted on our local server, embodying a full-stack solution.
The application significantly reduced the time required to associate client addresses with their respective UTCs, streamlining our internal processes and improving service delivery.
